So many beautiful moments in this movie. James Gunn clearly has put his heart and soul into these films and that becomes obvious when we see how the story moves and how the characters themselves have developed; with their personality and with their interaction with each other. It may sound cliche, but it's nice to see the transformation of all of them starting off as strangers to enemies, then to friends, and then to being a family at the end.
Visually, everything is beautiful. The dialogue is funny as always and the sad moments are not only sad but they are so heartbreaking to watch. Like James Gunn didn't have to make us cry but he DID. He somehow made us care less about humans and more about extraterrestrial creatures from around the galaxy and I honestly don't mind that at all.
After rewatching this, I think I can finally say that Guardians Vol I. was a huge hit but in my opinion, Vol II. is a lot of better as a film. It got really into the details of the characters and it stands alone more with just being the "Guardian's universe" instead of tying in with the rest of the Infinity War universe.
I'm glad I gave this another watch after so long and Yondu is definitely the best character in this one. The scene with his arrow traveling around the spaceship is classic, his internal conflict is heartbreaking, and don't even get me started on that funeral scene.
