Fucking shit. This hit me hard not gonna lie. Cuarón captures emotional life like no other. Literally so beautiful, and If there’s any justice both Yalitza Aparicio and Marina de Tavira will be nominated in January.
A film this well written does not need to be as breathtakingly beautiful as this is. But it fucking is and I was floored. I assumed Emmanuel Lubezki shot this since he usually shoots for Cuaron but NO. Cuarón shot this himself. BULLSHIT that is insane! I can’t even imagine Lubezki doing better and he’s perhaps the greatest of all time. There’s one shot in particular at the end of the movie that I have zero idea how Alfonso accomplished.
Alfonso Cuarón, Guillermo del Toro and Alejandro G. Inarritu have created a dynasty of excellent filmmaking for a country that needs art now more than ever. I couldn’t be more proud of my culture and people after seeing the groundbreaking work these guys are consistently accomplishing.
