Juliet of the Spirits

Juliet of the Spirits ★★★★½

"You're scared of one thing, being happy."

Effortlessly vibrant surrealism melded into a tormented beating heart.

Don't think I've seen a film that captures a sense of entrapped desires this creatively while being grounded with so much personality since.... really.

A film that's just constantly on the edge, ready to burst out at any second but retained with its excruciating melancholy. All of which is reflected so stunningly by Giulietta Masina's performance.

Fellini is just...making me feel that inexplicable magic of cinema in spades of right now.
