Made on a small budget, Kibakichi is a very fun action film about a werewolf samurai in a world filled with yokai who kill and consume humans. If you enjoy period piece films like Samurai X, you may be a fan of this one

  • Borgman

Borderline on grounded and fantastical, Borgman is a film about "The Other" and at first glance, reminds you of home invasion films you've seen before. This film has a pretty slow start with a lot of plot buildup and interesting characters that are beyond one-note, but hardly as fleshed out as you may like. I would count this movie more as a character study on the vileness of mankind more than a horror, but go into this movie knowing that it is a psychological tale that demands your attention from start to finish.

    Starship Troopers

Masterful casting and dripping in satire, Starship Troopers is more of an inversion of the novel it’s based on rather than a faithful adaptation. Ma mère

This film is based off of a better book in my opinion, but equally as disturbing. This film focuses on an immoral mother and her son after the death of her husband. Again, this film requires you to open your mind to ideas and ways of life that may seem.. unnatural. It's filmed a bit dark in areas, but overall this is a competent adaptation of the novel. If you enjoy foreign films and understanding the depths of sexual desires, this is a must watch.
