Just how much alcohol is enough to sustain an exciting life? Four friends embark on what started as an innocent and fun drinking experiment to find that out in black comedy Another Round.
Sweet, relatable and somewhat euphoric, this Danish movie is a surprising delight. All the major characters were developed and the pacing didn't bore despite not having a flashy nor standout scene. The themes ranging from personal crisis, alcoholism, depression, and death are covered without diluting the storytelling. Acting wise, Mads Mikkelsen is brillant as Martin. His facial expressions convey his emotions at peak. The last sequence of Another Round is a beautiful sense of chatarsis that will leave viewers feeling good, smiling and wanting to have a decent, moderate drink.
