Paul Wood’s review published on Letterboxd:
This much over looked western has a lot going for it; a great ensemble cast, blistering action sequences and a good attention to period detail.
Where most Wyatt Earp movies end at the OK Corral, this uses the incident as a jumping off point, detailing the events following that brief but bloody shootout.
Kurt Russell does his best Clint impersonation, and it works extremely well in context, just as Val Kilmer is excellent as a sickly, eccentric Holiday.
But the joy of the movie comes from its sheer love of the subject matter, clearly on show for all to see together with it's amazing supporting cast.
Not a deep investigation of the real life characters, but simply a rip roaring, boys own cowboy movie.
