Miami Connection

Miami Connection ★★★½

It's a bit of a cliche to say an amateur action flick plays like an 11-year-old boy's fantasy come to life, but everything about this story of a super popular rock band whose members are all best friends and live together in a big house and hang out in their favorite restaurant and go to school at the local college where everybody thinks they're super cool and also they do really good tae-kwon-do and have girlfriends who they hug and kiss a lot and they drive around in a great big vintage convertible and sometimes beat up drug dealers and other jerks who are mean to them for no good reason or maybe even get swords and slaughter a bunch of guys who are mean to their friends, and it doesn't matter if they don't have nice parents because they have such good friends, the kind of friends where you write songs about what good friends you are and play them at the night club where you're a super popular rock band is exactly that.
