FARIS’s review published on Letterboxd:
That was what I said when the opening shot of the desert appeared. Paris, Texas has one of the best storytelling I've ever seen. I laughed, smile and cried throughout the movie.
From the moment Travis appeared on-screen, I was dying to know what had happened to this man to the point where he ended up in a place like this, looking scruffy and all alone. Is he going somewhere, running away from somebody or a troubled past maybe? The twanging of the guitar, him stopping and staring off into the desert. Looked at an eagle then drinking from the water container in his hand and continue on his journey. I knew this was going to be a great movie (and from a friend picked).
