  I’m not too proud to say I didn’t get it. I think I would’ve enjoyed the film much more if I had deciphered a single part of it. In some ways, that makes for a more intriguing story, but that comes at the expense of being an engaging experience. The usual Anderson vibes were present but not felt, because the whole thing was just so damn alienating. Almost nightmarish really.

  Weird movie. Not entirely sure how I feel about it. Feels more muddled than Zahler's previous outings. There were some strange moments of comedy and violence that felt completely atonal. Still an original, engrossing trip nonetheless.
