some actually really great fight scenes, its legitimately shot well, good story, surprisingly really dark, and a good villain. It still falls into the james gunn pitfalls that a lot of people have with his style of humor, but i usually really love Gunn's stuff so its never bothered me. Some big pacing issues, but the last third of the movie really makes up for it.

Missing 2023
Good, but nothing spectacular. Basically a missing persons mystery told entirely through computer screens, pseudo-found footage style. The twists are interesting and keep the mystery coming, but all in all dont feel impactful. Sadly the plot doesnt go anywhere truly impressive. The depiction of social media and modern tech feels real and not boomerized, which was very refreshing for a movie like this. Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio 2022
Absolutely fantastic. An incredible retelling and recontextualization of a classic story, making it feel completely fresh. Bringing this story into it's WW2 roots adds an amazing amount to Pinocchio in ways I never thought of. As a Pinocchio retelling, i think i liked it more than the original Disney one. I LOVE the original Disney Pinocchio, but this new version adds so much context, dimensionality and makes it a much more personal story.
