Every Philip K. Dick novel deserves great film Adaptation. A Scanner Darkly is actually closest to the source material compared to Blade Runner or any Dick's book adaptations. Linklater is really a gifted and special filmmaker, he has diverse style and films, a scanner darkly is unlike anything he has worked on. Keanu, RDJ, Woody and Winona are genius casting, they have really similar vibes and their quirkiness creates flawless chemistry. Always love rewatching it. Whoever might think Rotoscope style…
RIP Tobe Hooper man.. To this day, it's up there with any horror films and it's definitely greatest Slasher of all time. It's pure madness and chaos, it's shot and directed almost perfectly. Last 20 minutes of it are probably one of the most disturbing and unnerving filmmaking in decades and as the years go by it's not losing intensity at all. Hysteria and unbearable tension make it horror classic. Also that fucking grandpa sucking on Sally's fingers is an only comedic relief, he's enjoying it quite a bit.
Hiroshi Teshighara and Tatsuya Nakadai are more than enough reasons to watch this masterpiece! It's incredibly disturbing and stunning in every visual aspect. Teshighara is master of sets and everything in his movies look impeccable. It's an allegory of human's existence and importance of not losing identity.
Cary grant is second most attractive man after me for my wife and glad he's figure in past. You can't deny his unmatched charisma and class. Truly most gorgeous actor in hollywood history and there are more reasons why he was Hitchcock's favorite. To Catch a Thief isn't Hitchcocks best movie, but it's just most beautiful trip to 60's.
