Lisa Soprano’s review published on Letterboxd:
"Kong's a pretty good king. Keeps to himself, mostly. But you don't go into someone's house and start dropping bombs, unless you're picking a fight."
A reboot of King Kong and serves as the second film in Legendary's MonsterVerse. The film follows a team of scientists and Vietnam War soldiers who travel to an uncharted island in the Pacific and encounter terrifying creatures.
No sequel, reboot or remake has come close to matching up to the mythology of the 1933 classic, and just to be sure, neither does this latest iteration of pop culture's mightiest simian. Offering exhilarating eye candy, solid acting, and a fast-paced story, Kong: Skull Island is an ok reboot. Hail to the king.
