Ian’s review published on Letterboxd:
Big budget Eggers fucking delivers, amazing action sequences, amazing acting yet something feels off, maybe it's just me going into it expecting the same ethereal and existential experiences from The Witch and The Lighthouse but I do wish it was a bit more like them.
The first 2 acts were phenomenally paced then it does kind of go into a lull towards the 3rd act but then THAT ending is phenomenal and quite cathartic. Might be Eggers weakest film in my opinion yet it's still an absolute blast to watch on the big screen but it seems destined to bomb, we should be thankful for Eggers getting a big budget to work with.
