Everyone online is freaking out about the final act but I mostly thought Alex Garland suspended the narrative to create a brief Tool music video.
I saw many elements from films I adore (Stalker, Under the Skin, Arrival, The Thing, etc.) but this picture did not work for me. I suppose my problem is the work was over-ambitious?
That said, I’m happy Garland had the freedom to make a film like this. I’ll just have to disagree with the public this time.
