if you haven’t read the book, you can’t truly appreciate this movie for bringing the marsh & kya to life. is the book a million times better & was i disappointed about crucial details that were excluded? absolutely yes. but i don’t think that took away the beauty of this movie & how well the characters were played along with the story. daisy edgar jones is a force to be reckoned with & i can’t wait to see her do even more. i was initially gonna rate this a 4 1/2 even with what was excluded from the book, but the big reveal at the end being changed completely & leaving out her poem was a big disappointment so i’m gonna leave it at 4 stars. i’d recommend everyone to read this book before you see the film, the book is short & an effortless read. only then can you truly appreciate the film & its’ beauty. i cried 5 times throughout this film. i haven’t had a book move me this much in years & seeing it brought to life meant everything to me.
