The revenge thriller Rolling Thunder has what most revenge thrillers miss: the emptiness of revenge. It has the emptiness of the routineΒ of war and coming back from said war to acclimate to the emptiness of the βreal world.β An effective and dark picture with great symbolic prowess about a certain time and a certain war. The scene between Rane, Cliff, and a rope is top-notch stuff. At the same time, I could see where William Devaneβs performance could be criticized but honestly, heβs layered as fuck. Good stuff with a little pacing issues and a perfect ending.

Theater Camp 2023
A cutesy and clumsy bit of fun for both those who love theater and those who criticize it. Overall, the grainy/harvest gold look and actors were spot on for a summer movie about a theater camp. Although, maybe needed to be additionally clever with jokes, characters, and predictable story arch. I've seen this story, scenic scenarios, and archetypes a dozen times before. I needed it to go balls to walls with theater camp.Β Comparatively,Β I did full-heartedly enjoy the more sentimental partsβ¦
