  • Love Story

    Love Story

One of the most unexpectedly annoying movies I’ve ever seen. I didn’t expect to hail this as a masterpiece, but I did think there was a reason why this was a box office smash and cemented itself into pop culture forever. Turns out, there isn’t!!

It’s just dumb, and not even satisfactorily so, it just is. Love Story takes itself too seriously, way too seriously, and should lighten up a bit. I do like the score though, I’m not going to lie.

  • Sliding Doors

    Sliding Doors

Both better and worse than I was expecting (genuinely don’t know what I was expecting though). I was even leaning towards it being passable, until the horrendous ending.

Blah, avoid this movie, what’s even the point of having a British romcom from the 90’s if it doesn’t have a Hugh or a Colin in it??

  • The Invention of Lying

    The Invention of Lying

An incredibly interesting concept and a surprisingly stacked cast. That’s it.
Literally everything else is horseshit. Awful script, editing, direction and even bad performances by otherwise good actors.

  • Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga

Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga

Is this a good movie? No. Is this a good movie about Eurovision? Also no. But does it have its entertaining moments? Sure, absolutely. Dan Stevens and Rachel McAdams are both great, and it’s really fun as a European to see all the little nods to the real contest.

But Will Ferrell is perhaps the weakest part of his own movie, which is kind of sad. It’s also incredibly formulaic and the balance of satire seems really off. Something try…

  • The Circle

    The Circle

The adaptation of the Swedish fantasy YA novel by the same name. If the subject matter (teen witches, angst, high school, magic) intrigues you then just go read the book instead. This movie is simply not good.

  • Sonic the Hedgehog

    Sonic the Hedgehog

Honestly pretty enjoyable. But also bad. But also fun?

Jim Carrey is great hamming it up as Dr. Robotnik, the soundtrack is fun, the effects are nice. That’s about it, the rest is average or poor, but it is a children’s video game movie so if you keep that in mind, and are still okay with watching it then you’ll probably have a nice te with.

PS. It starts with a freeze frame “you’re probably wondering how I ended up here” moment and Sonic flosses twice.

  • To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You

To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You

    Yeah this ain’t it...

I don’t even know why I watched this, I knew I wouldn’t really like it, but it’s Valentine’s Day, I saw it on Netflix and thought what the heck.

Definitely a downgrade from the last one, which also wasn’t great. Everything here was just a bit worse, the script, the acting, the editing just everything. Felt really apathetic about it the whole time.

Also, how anyone could possibly choose Peter Noah Centineo Kavinsky over John Ambrose is beyond me.

  • The First Wives Club

    The First Wives Club

While I love the women in this (Midler, Hawn, Keaton, Smith, Parker etc.) I just don’t love the script or the story :/
