“ I don't shut up. I grow up. And when I look at you, I throw up”
God this was so unexpectedly heartfelt and gave me a painful rush of nostalgia. I have no emotional ties to the 50s or 80. But watching this made me feel like I fell asleep under a tree during a sweltering summer and was thrown back to my childhood.
River Phoenix was a shining star, and everything in this felt so raw and vulnerable while still retaining some of the innocence and naivety of this age. An incredible adaptation and a strangely perfect comfort movie, no matter how much you might sob.
