Keller Dover? More like Yeller Dover, amirite?
Sorry, this was another terrific film from Villeneuve and with stunning work from our lord and savior Roger Deakins. I can't fully explain why I didn't love this, it definitely was very consistently engaging and anything that has Jake Gyllenhaal in it will have my attention and automatic enjoyment. Maybe I felt that the underlying themes of morality and faith weren't explored to their full potential? It was quite apparent what the intent was, but it was never as deep and impactful as it could be.
Some plot holes and discarded storylines, but also an absolutely magnificent ending. Yes, I think it would be tough not to appreciate this.
