David Espinosa’s review published on Letterboxd:
Feels quite impressive to watch this wild spectacle in a cinema, as you get completely lost in the rawness of the tale of vengeance, in the blood and the anger, in the epic story Eggers has achieved. It's engrossing and a completely different perspective from a typical action narrative, creating a fantastic world with beautiful visuals, a harrowing score, and really amazing performances. It's bloody, tragic, and overall a fantastic feat of filmmaking.
But I have to say I ended up feeling a bit underwhelmed. I expected to like it more, but there's something that feels lost in the epicness, and I suppose I prefer Eggers' more intimate and atmospheric horror. I definitely need to give this another watch, because I also missed the Björk scene :(.
