so solid but doesn’t quite stick the landing. and even if your friend had an affair with your husband and lied about killing their friend (lol), imo it’s still pretty evil leaving them to the fate of those monsters. i’d hope our grieving protagonist might have just a bit more sympathy.

i love roth and his practicals, but the campiness feels contrived unlike the films this one plays homage to.

nearly grazes scream territory, i could see a thanksgiving sequel potentially being better.

rounding out angus’ mother to be more than the one-dimensional antagonist come the end could make this five stars

an immediate classic, rich with character work and craft, achingly melancholic.

sometimes, repeated static shots of various materials for aesthetics doesn’t create an inviting atmosphere but rather comes across as dull.
