Really a joy to watch. Ozu explores the adult world with childrens pov. The film does so much with it's minimal style and terrific framing. Entire cast is just great. Fart jokes too.
Wow. Bong Joon Ho's second feature on the outside seems similar to films like Se7en but what it really is something much deeper, a study of obsession and failure.
The same black comedy from Parasite is present for the first hour, after which it turns to a full blown thriller with twists and turns and a very satisfying ending.
Bong's direction is flawless, every beat and little movement serves purpose to the story. The shots are so well composed and the use of music is truly fantastic.
Only the third film from him that I've seen, but this is by far my favourite.
Kurosawas sequel to Yojimbo is an action packed and fucking funny film. Some really beautiful shots in this one and an epic score. You can really see Kurosawas influence on Star Wars, the main character reminded me of Clone Wars Obi-Wan and Lando Calrsissian. Can't really say which is better this or Yojimbo, but both are fantastic and I need to watch them back to back sometime.
