I started this in 2020 when it first came out. I just finished it a couple days ago. It is almost 3 years later and it only has 8 episodes... Watching this was like torture.
Although, I did like the mini Blood Orange concert in the last episode.

"Say hello to my gatito blade."
Elevated in every way possible. Better animation, better story, and better characterization. And the friendship between Puss and Perrito is just perfection. The best film in the Shrek franchise. And the best animated film of 2022.
The way this was actually better than Del Toro's Pinocchio, but Del Toro still swept is very telling. I still love Del Toro, but this was obviously better.
Also, now have my top 3 films 2022: Everything Everywhere All at Once, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, and Babylon. Let's go!
"Absitively posolutely!"
One of my favorite Disney movies. The music is top-notch. I'm always singing "Why Should I Worry". The stereotypical voice acting from Cheech Marin is very... But it is not enough to ruin the movie.
Would be a great double feature with All Dogs Go to Heaven.
"I know the entire course of a person's life can change in a millisecond."
The Vanishing of Sidney Hall is a really ambitious film that doesn't 100% work, but I still really enjoyed it. Sometimes it doesn't go where I want it to and sometimes it doesn't actually cover what's more interesting. But it was an interesting completely immersive, bleak experience that I could have even watched for even longer.
I liked a lot of the ideas being used, even if it is not executed in the best way.
This kinda feels like a complementary piece to Perks of Being a Wallflower.
"Who gives a fuck about movies!"
This was maybe the film I was looking forward to the most this year. Scream is my favorite horror franchise. But this was such a disappointed. It just didn't work for me. And the more it sits with me the more I don't like it.
I love that the opening subverts expectations... but then they don't really do anything important with it, so it just feels like it was just used to subvert expectationsβ¦
I finished fmab yesterday. For the last 2 weeks I tried my hardest to do nothing but marathon this until I finished it, and watch at least 5 episodes a day. Yesterday I watched like 9 episodes until I finished this. I started this at the beginning of the year, on my s/o birthday actually, but watching films has always gotten in the way.
I really wanted to watch this anime, because it is my s/o favorite anime and itβ¦
"Welcome to... Fright... Night! For real."
Watching this for the first time felt so familiar. Wanna know why... I grew up with the Disney Chanel Original Movie, Mom's Got a Date with a Vampire, and I had just rewatched it recently... and besides the ending, it is the exact same film. I weirdly have also seen the remake of this first, too.
With that being said, I think this might be my favorite vampire film ever now... Which is sayingβ¦
I feel like anthology films are always so hard to rate. I cant decide whether I want to give this 4.5 or 5 stars. There is one story that really brings this down, and that's Steven Spielberg's segment. I just don't feel like it fit. It was too vanilla, but that is Spielberg... Great filmmaker, but couldn't make an edgy film if his life depended on it. But Joe Dante's segment... The third one, is probably the best anthology storyβ¦
"Fuck your Mercy"
I think I like this even more watching it a second time on 4k.
This is one of the best action films of the 2010s. The action is actually so insane and so good. And besides a few scenes, the vfx is actually really good. Unfortunately, the script is still the weakest part of this film adaptation .
But I'm so excited that we could now possibly get a sequel, because I want one so bad.
"I can't think here. I can't breathe. I feel like I'm losing my mind."
I thought this was actually really terrifying and well done for a lot of the film. But as the film goes on it just turns into that stereotypical, ordinary horror film.
Maika Monroe is so good in this tho. And the production design of the home is absolutely beautiful.
β« I'm Bulletproof, nothing to lose. Fire away, fire away. Ricochet, you take your aim. Fire away, fire away. Shoot me down, but I won't fall, I am Titanium... β«
I watched the Unrated version.
When Allison Williams told that little girl she cant touch her collectibles because they aren't toys... I have never felt something so deeply. That spoke to me. She's just like me.
But M3GAN, as a character, instant horror icon. I love her so much. Inβ¦
"Don't you ever feel like... you've just done a whole amazing day and then you come home and feel tired and down and... it feels like your organs don't work, they're just tired, and everything is tired. Like you're sinking. I don't know, it's weird."
This was the last film I watched for award season 2022 before the Oscars.
I love slice of life, especially in anime. I am the biggest fan. But... this was like the most boring sliceβ¦
