I watched this film for Matt Dillion mainly because I'm trying to watch all of his notable 80s and 90s films. And this film includes Emilio Estevez and Jennifer Tilly's sister, Meg Tilly. And it is written by S.E. Hinton, who wrote Rumble Fish and The Outsiders, which are two of my all-time favorites.
But, yeah, this film is Matt Dillon + horses in a coming-of-age film. I grew up riding horses, so I feel a special type of love for this film. And it was just overall great. 80s Matt Dillion really has this type of presence when he's on screen he commands your attention no matter who he shares the screen with. But his on-screen chemistry with his brother in this film was amazing.
