Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo

Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo ★★★½

"Is this my fault?"

This is such an odd film. It’s so much more avant-garde than its predecessors and feels so scatterbrained and messy, for better and worse. The more I think about Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo I think I understand the timeline and what it’s going for. I’ve been doing research all night trying to comprehend this immense story.

Everything about this eccentric mess is so charming and beautiful, yet it feels a bit disingenuous and it doesn’t feel like quite like it’s propelling the series forward in a truly memorable way. That being said there is so much to love and so much frustration within Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo.
