This was good not great and I was expecting Wanda to pull a reverse House Of M to finally bring mutants into the MCU.
Well clearly that didn't happen.
I'm not sure how they're going to bring mutants, not just the X-Men in this cinematic universe.
No Magneto reference or acknowledgement of him
being Wanda's father.
Super cool to hear the 90's X-Men music playing when Charles Xavier appeared with the green suit and yellow hover chair also from the 90's.
Thank goodness Black Bolt had his classic tuning fork mask and suit on even though the Inhumans show was not great.
Awesome to see Captain Maria Rambeau and Captain Peggy Carter.
I was hoping we get to see those versions of them again maybe in the MCU.
And then Wanda Maximoff showed up.
Aside from Professor X dying which doesn't make sense to me because once Charles Xavier gets into someone's mind, his telepathic abilities are tough to combat with.
Although I get that Sir Patrick Stuart isn't the long term choice for Professor Charles Xavier in the MCU which explains his character's demise here.
Um The Illuminati's Baron Mordo if I'm not mistaken didn't die even though everyone else did.
Perhaps a new Illuminati down the road?
John Krasinski's Reed Richards I believe is the only Illuminati member here who might come back as a 616 universe of himself.
One because he and Emily Blunt have been rumored to play Mr Fantastic and Sue Storm/Invisible Woman for years now.
Two the MCU's Fantastic Four movie has no director and Krasinski would probably love the opportunity to star and direct in a MCU film that his real life wife could also co-star in.
Anyway Benedict Cumberbatch once again has a done a splendid job in the titular role.
Xochitl Gomez in her debut as America Chavez did good as well as Benedict Wong and Rachael McAdams.
Elizabeth Olsen has made Scarlet Witch a force to be reckon with.
Even though I really wanted to see the X-Men and mutant teams appear, or even Deadpool making a quick cameo, clearly Marvel's going to take their time with any mutants/mutates previously from Fox outside of the Illumanti's Professor X.
So this was a fun ride though I expected much more honestly.
Mid Credits Scene: I always though Charlize Theron would make a great Carol Danvers.
Should be interesting to see her moving forward as Clea.
Theories: I think the High Evolutionary is going to dig Wanda out of that rubble from Mount Wundagore. In the comics he is the number #1 being who is often associated with that mountain and had scientifically experimented on both Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver.
High Evolutionary will be introduced in the upcoming Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3 movie.
Doctor Strange and Clea might be entering the Dark Dimension and encounter Kang The Conqueror or Immortus who are both variants of the character He Who Remains from the season 1 finale of Loki's Disney+ Series.
