Harrison Costello’s review published on Letterboxd:
An excellent, hilarious, and charming debut into the film world by Wes Anderson.
While you can see the famous Anderson style start to form in this film, it feels very different from other more stylized films he has made. Despite not having this style, it has just as much charm as his other films. The film is outstandingly funny and Anderson expertly uses visual comedy to convey the humor. The first act is wonderful however it slows down in the second act. Thankfully the film picks up again in its third act
Bottle Rocket is a great film and I am happy that it was the catalyst that brought Anderson into directing. 3.5/5
