'I could have helped him!'
The man with no face? Lady, no you could not. Don't talk shite.
Again, I flagged the writing and Gelatt was there once more. I feel like I'm discriminating at this stage, but I seriously felt like I'd seen this exact Love, Death + Robots episode before. (Crew with guns enter ambush, learn enemy is more sci-fi than it seemed!) It's desperately uninventive with its narrative, and you can't hide that by only changing the flavour of the bad guy.
Photorealistic animation? Incredible achievement! Honestly, even if the cynic in me says "just film your actors (and Jai Courtenay) and animate around them!" Although you can see the odd cut corner and I love how human that is. The realistic facial motions aren't as realistic in the moments when they think you're not looking... I had a laugh.
