John Carpenter’s review published on Letterboxd:
There is no reason any horror fan should pass on “Black Sunday.” The film is a masterpiece that deserves all of the attention it receives. Having Kino Lorber snap up the rights is a dream come true. They have delivered fantastic audio and video that cleans up the 1960 classic while remaining faithful to the roots of the film. The commentary track is not filled with ‘mile a minute’ dialogue, but Tim Lucas does give some quality insight to a fantastic debut from Mario Bava. Those looking for a great movie to watch on Halloween night have found a winner. “Black Sunday” delivers on a variety of levels and is a highly recommended release.
