  • Cléo from 5 to 7

    Cléo from 5 to 7

Ultimate 1960s French vibe film. Haven't seen some kino in a while, so this was my breath of fresh air experience. Saw it in a theater 2k restoration version. I enjoyed this as a time capsule film and I'm excited to explore the rest of Varda's filmography. Very exotic, poetic and beautiful.

  • A Man Escaped

    A Man Escaped

As soon as the clock turned 4 AM in the film at the climactic sequence, it was 4 AM for me irl, so I was extremely immersed at that point.

Anyways, I loved every second of this masterpiece. It was very tight, suspenseful and very minimalistic (in the best way possible). Although the title already spoils the film, I found myself to be on the edge of my seat, fearing for that man's life. The sound was used really well in this.

  • Seven Samurai

    Seven Samurai

For a three and a half hour long runtime, this movie feels like two hours! It has such a simple premise, yet its so brilliantly executed with its masterful direction by the one and only, Akira Kurosawa. I'm really tempted to watch his other works, as he's considered to be by many as one of the most influential filmmakers in cinema history. I highly recommend this movie and don't feel intimidated by its length. Absolutely incredible. I'll definitely be looking forward to his filmography.
