that snake thing with freddy's head is probably the scariest thing in the whole franchise.

while i don't think this exactly lives up to the original, it definitely has a lot going for it and you can tell this is was not just a phoned in, they really tried to include as many creative effects and set pieces as possible. and they didn't make the mistake of showing freddy too much in the early parts of the movie.
