My second viewing of this whodunnit pressure cooker thriller with friends watching for the first time, I had a blast knowing the off-screen events that result in the tense on-screen confrontations. This could easily have been a cringey endeavor, writing contemporary dialogue for a bunch of coked up buzzword-happy Gen Z fuckheads. Their narcissistic emotional manipulations feel authentic, appropriately vapid, and hilariously non-self-aware to the level of drawing a healthy dose of laughs from the room. I'm left reminded of what it's like to talk with someone in their early 20s who bases their entirely personality off of what they learned in speech and debate club. Satisfying setups, payoffs, casting, and enough wildcard elements to keep the audience on their toes.
