Stop-Zemlia

Stop-Zemlia ★★★★

Didn't really need to be two hours long and there was a certain unpleasant sequence I could have gone without but overall I really enjoyed spending time with these Ukrainian teens. Whether or not you could call it "acting" (this definitely isn't documentary but I doubt anyone isn't playing themselves and who knows how much was even scripted) the central trio is just eminently watchable and likable which is what counts in the end. Could be called plotless but never really feels dull despite that, and ultimately I expect this project would have failed to materialize if Gornostai tried to shoehorn some kind of driving conflict into it. Think this would've annihilated me if I saw it at 16.
