The Godfather Part II is the greatest sequel ever made. The film lives up to the original in every way. The acting is superb again. Al Pacino is great again, it’s a true shame that the Oscars didn’t give him a best actor Oscar. Robert De Niro and John Cazale do phenomenally in their roles as Vito and Fredo also. De Niro lived up to Marlon Brando and played Vito perfectly. John did great as Fredo also, he perfectly acted how it would feel for Fredo after being stepped over so much. The story again is phenomenal. It shows Michael’s fall and contrasts it with Vito’s rise perfectly. It’s interesting watching both and comparing them. It all cultivates in one of the most memorable endings ever. The ending leaves an impact on you. Michael killing Fredo is shocking, and it sticks with you. You feel sad for Fredo and angry at Michael. The story perfectly goes with Part I. You can’t have one without the other. The cinematography is even better. The present is tinted darkly, being the grimness and sadness of it all. The past is tinted light, giving a feeling of nostalgia and happiness. It’s beautiful. The music is also better. It perfectly makes you emotional when it wants you too, and is beautiful. The film is an utter masterpiece like the first. I like to consider both as the greatest film ever made, since you can’t truly have one without the other. If you haven’t seen this or any of them ASAP and let me know what you think about it. You won’t be disappointed. (Personally, I think both are good, and I can’t say one is better than the other. Both are just so good)
On a side note I won’t be active this week bc I’ll be at summer camp, but when I get back, a lot of reviews will be coming out.
