City of God is sickening and dark which is heightened by the fact that these were kids killing people because it’s all they know. it truly was an insight into a completely different lifestyle. the effectively placed ‘true story’ title card at the end of the film left you contemplating everything you has just seen as the credits rolled. i did find myself getting bored, however, so i am definitely revisiting this one at a later date.
