Despite the run time being a bit long for my taste, i thought that this film really opened doors for a new type of horror. arg horror has really peaked my interest over the years with the walten files and possibly in michigan. though they are about absolutely different things, i still get the same overwhelmingly liminal dissociative feeling. this was probably the first horror film i've seen in theatres that actually fuckin frightened me. would i watch it again? fuck no. am i glad i saw it? yes. im excited to see what comes next from this director.
