Reservoir Dogs

Reservoir Dogs ★★★½

Of all Tarantino’s films, Reservoir dogs is by far my least favourite. That’s not to say it isn’t good; it is. In fact, it’s a cut above (no pun intended) most of its ilk but, for me, it drags a bit too much, which is odd considering that it is (I think) the shortest of his movies.

I found it hard to connect with the characters, apart from the one played by Tim Roth. When he and Harvey Keitel are running away from the somewhat bungled heist, he watches the latter mercilessly gun down two policemen (and he himself shoots the female driver of a car that they steal) – the look on his face and the feelings that are conveyed by his eyes really hit you in the gut (again, no pun intended).
