  • The Last Duel

    The Last Duel

Matt and Ben pitching this movie, “bro, but get this twist: the truth is from the WOMAN’S perspective”

  • Suspiria

The embodiment of “a lot going on here”

  • Maurice

    a Merchant Ivory joint

  • Dune

Well well well if they didn’t give the Arrival guy a bigger budget

  • Hope and Glory

    Hope and Glory

All the more special for having to send my dad to the library to rent it (because it’s not streaming) ahead of our trip to London. Because it’s recommended in, get this, the Lonely Planet guidebook as one of the five British films you should see and it was not only the one I hadn’t seen, but never heard of it.

Respect that it has no bother for plot. It really wandered, but I couldn’t help be won over by it by its charm.

  • Pig

    hits the spot

  • Cry Macho

    Cry Macho

Another anti-cop Eastwood feature (“Pale Rider” being his best of these). It’s no “The Mule” (one of the best movies of the past decade), but it sure is simple and lovely.

“If a guy wants to name his cock macho, it’s okay by me”

(Clint’s Dirty Harry character was also made a widow by an auto accident. Don’t know what to do with that. Film critics: cite me. I discovered this)

  • Sully

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

Unnecessarily good. But it works. I cried when the union guy said 155. Painful when you have to admit ACAB includes SCUBA cops

  • American Psycho

    American Psycho

Watching this reminds me, I have to return some video tapes

  • John McEnroe: In the Realm of Perfection

John McEnroe: In the Realm of Perfection

I watched this at Film Forum and then went back a second time with my bros, but they rolled their eyes on the way out of the theater. I watched it a third time with dad and he walked out after an hour. It’s hard having good taste.

  • My Cousin Vinny
