Engaging and likable characters propel this film into a territory of comfort and relatability. By using sci-fi concepts in a restrained manner, it is able to explore relationships and high school struggles in a mature and humane manner. It may suffer from repetition and plot conveniences at times, but never to the point of significant distraction.
