I normally have a big(ger) issue when movies tell us to brush off toxic traits because family is more important, so let's all forgive each other. And that probably speaks more about me than the content. But I felt like it was better handled here. Because the characters are better fleshed out, because they also go through an arc of learning and growing, having mistakes, and all of that. So those emotional beats balanced the story nicely. Also. The animation, the characters, the songs, everything's just so good.
