The opening title card flourish is still just pure movie magic. It makes my heart swell. Pam Grier’s blue outfit is so striking and she has such a screen presence she almost glows independent of the LAX fluorescent lighting. Between that opening, the Natural High sequence, and every scene of Jackie keeping her cool in the tensest of situations, I can’t imagine someone walking out of this movie not madly in love with Pam Grier as a screen icon.
