Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl ★★

30-Day Film Challenge
Day 8: A film where you liked the soundtrack more

Everything's entertaining apart from the action sequences, which, I figure, means it's, like, 10% entertaining.

Johnny Depp! Please take a shower, mate! No, I mean you give quite a satisfactory comic performance as a dirty, mouldy pirate, but maybe wash yourself after the movie's done, thank you. The narrative, and especially the joints of the cause-and-effect structure, is highly 'coincidental' and practically, a load of cobblers. My favourite moment is when the good guys were throwing cargo overboard so that their ship becomes lighter and they can escape the bad guys, and 5 seconds after they've got rid of everything, they decided it's no use...very professional of you, sailors. Or pirates or whatever you are. Anyway, I just came here for the soundtrack. TATATATA TATATATA TATATATA TATA TATA.
