Liked that it builds on the original, instead of shifting focus to a new protagonist or just rehashing the previous film.
More fucked up and gruesome than the first. Not as entertaining though; definitely felt the runtime on this one. They spend a little too long worldbuilding / inside the hellscape.
The making of pinhead scene was pretty good. As was the showdown between Dr. channard & cenobites, and the former’s final form.

Metropolis is an ambitious masterpiece, made up of grand set designs, special effects and ideas (and just a hint of Plato's The Republic).
