    Largely disappointing :/
The final act was awesome but the movie is all epic with no heart.

Side note: 100 movies logged, woo! I am now totally movie-literate and don’t need to watch anything else

In terms of road movies featuring young criminals in love, it’s not as all-around great as True Romance (fight me), not as ambitiously striking as Natural Born Killers, nor is it as technically refined as Bonnie and Clyde or Badlands.

It is however, first for memorable performances (maybe tied w natural born killers but Laura Dern and Nic Cage are unreal) and littered with incredible moments (the Sherilyn Fenn scene fucked me up)

Wow, this movie makes me think about what the legacy of contemporary problematic “masterpieces” will be like 60+ years from now. So many parts of this are tough to watch but I’m trying to reconcile how the marvelous and groundbreaking cinematography is equally as unignorable because I would kill to be able to shoot something like this.
