  • Fire of Love

    Fire of Love 2022

★★★★★ Watched by Graham Martin Brown 31 Jul 2022

The voiceover was doing A Bit Much at times especially considering that what Maurice and Katia had to say was 100% more interesting.

BUT this movie is beautiful and you should run to the theater to see it

    Old 2021

★★ Watched by Graham Martin Brown 20 Jun 2022

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

This movie is dumb! It is goofy! And I was deceived - the beach doesn’t make you old; the rocks make you old! (way less cool)

  • Pinocchio

    Pinocchio 1940

★★★★ Watched by Graham Martin Brown 05 Jun 2022

The only thing I knew about Pinocchio going into this was that his nose grows when he lies and that there’s an Italian caricature. Imagine my surprise when I discover that the nose is only in a single scene and that there’s an entire child trafficking plot arc with terrifying body horror.

Despite my rationally cynical views on the company with the mouse mascot, this was such a treat. Now I see why this company is such a dominant cultural…

  • Portrait of Jennie

    Portrait of Jennie 1948

No trust me bro… I have a girlfriend… she just, goes to a different convent… and is from 1910… I’ve got a picture bro it’s just not finished yet I can’t show you… she’s like, beautiful in an eternal, historical color process way

  • Cold War

    Cold War 2018

★★★★½ Rewatched by Graham Martin Brown 09 May 2022

Some of the best cinematography in recent memory. Why does it feel like everyone slept on this movie?

  • The Northman

    The Northman 2022

★★★★ Rewatched by Graham Martin Brown 25 Apr 2022

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

I didn’t actually rewatch this I just want to set the record straight that the coolest fight in this movie was not the volcanic showdown, but instead the midnight brawl against the undead spirit.

Ok back to your regularly scheduled scrolling.
