The Ballad of Buster Scruggs

The Ballad of Buster Scruggs ★★★★½

@everybody who took the western with slowik: see this movie

At times hilarious, gut-wrenching, and breathtaking, this is a clever and wildly entertaining homage to the western genre that is more deftly subversive than the likes of Blazing Saddles (not to diss BS). I know it’s on Netflix, but get a group of people together to see it in theaters and then grab a beer.

All the westerns it references (that I could pick up on):
-The Big Trail
-The Gunfighter
-Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid
-Blazing Saddles
-Fistful of Dollars
-For a Few Dollars More
-Good, Bad, and Ugly
-McCabe and Mrs Miller
