Citizen Kane 1941
It is not the best film of all time, but it is certainly the most important. Everything we see in cinema today is thanks to genius Orson Welles.
Do not go with the expectation that this film will be the best of all time. I went with this expectation and ended up disappointing myself a little. Go watch this movie like any other, I'm sure you will enjoy it much more.

The Crimson Rivers 2000
Jean Reno is such an awesome actor. This French thriller wouldn't work at all without him. Albeit the storytelling is great and the director achieves to build a gloomy atmosphere the movie has a few issues.

All in all, a gripping story. I had hoped to find some deleted scenes on the bluray but there aren't any. I'll rewatch the sequel soon. -
Top Gun 1986

Despite its flaws, Top Gun is a movie I enjoy more each time I watch it. Yes, the chemistry between Tom Cruise and Kelly McGillis was not great. Where was Rebecca De Mornay? I told one of my friends how this movie should have been written as a gay romance between Iceman and Maverick. The tension was legit, and I would have…

The Color Purple 1985
I’m partly of the mind that this is overly sentimental and maybe not in the all time best taste for that reason. Uhh, The Color Purple shares the record with The Turning Point for the most Oscar nominations for a film without one single win, that’s at least a little funny and, depending on who you ask, entirely apt. But God, I don’t know man. It might be cloying but it works anyway. Whoopi Goldberg and Oprah Winfrey are both…
