David Gifford’s review published on Letterboxd:
I am so very happy that this movie turned out as well as it did. An exceptionally well acted, produced, and overall superbly made movie. I really can't say enough good things about this movie on a technical level, and that isn't even beginning to cover the impact of this movie.
This movie is emotionally devastating, and such an interesting story covering a lot of different topics. I will say that this movie does not flinch on its views of the police, politics, and views, but that is what makes this even more admirable in many ways. This had the story to tell, and I can commend the cast, crew, and production studios for putting this story out in such excellent form.
What is even crazier is that I feel like this story will be entirely new to many people watching. Rarely are these stories of such historical importance told to students in American history, and they really should. Movie's as powerful as these should really be seen by most everyone, and it will be difficult to top this movie for films coming out in 2021.
