• Children of the Corn III: Urban Harvest

Children of the Corn III: Urban Harvest

The 75th Birthday of Stephen King Marathon, children of the corn 3-urban harvest is maybe the best of the whole franchise. Pretty gory with an over the top finale, which reminds me at Hellraiser part 3. The fx by Screaming Mad George and Kevin Yagher looked pretty well

  • Cujo

One of the best, if not the best movie about a killer dog! One of the very good Stephen King adaptations with a powerhouse and total believable performance by great actress Dee Wallace. The last 40 minutes have been an excellent example how to.create pure terror on the screen.Still pretty impressive and scary animal against human movie. After alligator is this the second best film by director Lewis Teague.

  • A Return to Salem's Lot

    A Return to Salem's Lot

Another great Larry Cohen movie after the short story by Stephen King. Great performance by Samuel Fuller as fearless nazi-killer! The excellent musical score reminds me of the fantastic music written by John Carpenter. The storytelling and the father and son relationship is pretty believable. Maybe I liked it the same way I like the original salem's lot from Tobe Hoper. Sadly the dvd copy of the vhs tape is cut. 37 seconds of bloody gore are missing. I have to order the uk dvd/Blue Ray!

  • Hellbender

Pretty atmospheric and creepy coming of age horror folk tale about witches and rock music. They have been some fantastic visuals for a cheap low budget flic. Also good performances by the two lead actresses.

  • Castle Falls

    Castle Falls

Actually pretty good.Much better than expected. This is an intresting mix of crime thriller and social drama with some action and a few good stunts. Also a good chemistry between Scott Adkins and director and actor Dolph Lundgren.

  • Spasms

Super weird genre mix about a giant killer snake and a man who has a telecinatic connection to the snake. I guess at the end of the movie with the giant snake the producers went out of money, it looks pretty trashy, but charming enough to like it. There have been some gruesome images of body horror. Also I liked the chasing scenes of the perspective of the snake pretty much. Starring Peter Fonda and Oliver Reed. Reed.gave another fantastic performance like he done so often before. After Venom( die.schwarze Mamba ) this is the second best killersnake film with Oliver Reed.

  • Battle Royale

    Battle Royale

The Hunger Games for grown ups! This is sheer madness, a total blast of a movie. Best humans have to survive on an island movie ever!

  • The Protégé

    The Protégé

If you watch a Martin Campbell action flic, you can be certain to get an enjoyable high entertaining thrill ride of an action film. It's the same with this one. The story is a bit predictable and nothing special. You've seen it all before, but you get some super violent high octane action cinematography. Maggie Q rocks the screen and Michael Keaton gave a great bad villain. Samuel L Jackson have been better before, but his performance is solid enough not to disapoint his fans.

  • April Fool's Day

    April Fool's Day

This is defenitly a different look at the slasher genre. Low on gore but a strong mystery story with some high tension moments.I meant not the movie High tension more the thrill like suspension in this one. For sure April Fool's day is a love or hate movie. There's nothing in between. As I read some issues or have been watching horror documentaries like Going to Pieces for example the're have been some people whose disappointed by the twist at the end. And the opposite loved it exactly for that. But if you're smart enough it's not to hard to guess in witch direction this film went.

  • Girls on Top

    Girls on Top

Like a german version of American pie, but funnier at my opinion. Lots of of funny situations and with Diana Ampft,Karoline Herfurth and Felicitas Woll three pretty lead actresses with great comedian potential. There exists a sequel called Girls on Top 2 ( Mädchen, Mädchen 2 ). I'm not sure if I have seen it. But I think I have to

  • Three O'Clock High

    Three O'Clock High

What a surprise! This is defenitly on of the best high school comedies of the eighties. But it's not only a comedy about school kids/teenagers. It gets a lot of tension cause of the fight situation at three o'clock. The film seemed like a mix of Breakfast Ckub and High Noon. Together with state of grace my favourite movie of the director.

  • Pledges

Actually I liked the idea and the concept of this super low budget amateur horror flic. Instead of this strange supernatural evil power in the woods it would have been better if a serial killer had been hunted and killed the pledges. The ground idea with two teams of pledges where girls against boys had to done several tasks is pretty likeable. Its s pity that its execution often is so cheap. Ok, I have to admit that some of…
