Grant Hodges’s review published on Letterboxd:
My first John Waters movie and I’m not sure what I expected... but it certainly wasn’t this.
I like how the movie sorta played out as a satirical take on the nuclear family sitcom... just one where all the characters are really fucking crude all the time. It’s obvious the film is commenting our society’s fear of sexual openness, and I do enjoy that aspect, but aside from that... this kind of isn’t about anything. That said, there’s enough dumb moments that genuinely made me laugh (the sex addicts meeting in particular) so I can’t say I hated it. I’m just not sure who I would ever recommend this to either.
